SOCIAL MEDIA AND NEWSLETTER GRAPHICS

While at Shelby Electric Cooperative, I worked with the company newsletter and the social media accounts for various subsidiary businesses.

These tasks included:

• Editing the newsletter with an editing team and a circulation of 10,000 copies

• Creating reusable graphics for the company newsletter and social media for holidays, events, and promotions

• Editing photos to be used in the newsletter and on social media

While working on these smaller projects, I was able to gain a better grasp on design principles, marketing, and editing. I also collaborated with many different people to gauge the needs and wants of our users.

I was also given the opportunity to create small advertisements to be used on a local television station’s website. It posed many challenges as I was working at a distance with people I had never met, and I was forced to create ads in extremely small spaces. It was a wonderful learning experience that will be valuable in collaborating remotely and working with non-traditional requirements.
